ALFRED LEE MAYNE, SR. of Frederick, died Monday, February 15 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital,
surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Yvonne M. Mayne, who passed on June
20, 2008.
Born May 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Marjorie Mayne Perkins and the late Lee E. Mayne, and
the stepson of the late Howard T. Perkins, Sr.
Mr. Mayne enjoyed mushroom hunting, horse racing, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
In his later years he was employed at the Weis Market on Prospect Blvd. and was affectionately known
as "Mr. Al" or "Slugger Mayne".
Mr. Mayne was the last of his immediate family. Surviving are his two children: Alfred L. Mayne, Jr. and
wife, Linda of Fairfield, PA and Sharon D. Crampton and husband Nevin of Mt. Airy, three grandchildren:
Sean D. Mayne of Brunswick, Crystal M. Crampton of Charles Town, WV, and Bryan C. Crampton, of Mt.
Airy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul C. Mayne, Sr.
Mr. Mayne is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 North Market Street, Frederick,
where the family will receive friends Friday, February 19, from 3-5 & 7-9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 20 at the Funeral home, with the Rev.
L. Samuel Martz, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made in Mr. Mayne's name to the Hospice of Frederick County,
P.O. Box #1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
