Mr. Wayne McCoy Cregger, 86 of Emmitsburg died Friday, February 26 at his residence. He was the husband of Rosella Fuss Cregger, whom he married December 25, 1948.
Born April 12, 1923 in Smith County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Luther and Ada Cassell Cregger.
Mr. Cregger was a dairy farmer for 20 years and then with Mason Dixon Farms Dairy for 7 years. He was very active in church. He loved to garden and loved to be with his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife of 61 years are four children: Carl Cregger and wife Linda of Wooster OH, Harold Cregger and wife Cindy of Fairfield PA, Bradley Cregger and wife Jerrie of Spring Grove PA, and Alvin Cregger and wife Sherry of Emmitsburg; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Fern Bodmer and husband Charles of Fairfield PA and Gwenda Fuss and husband Rev. Lloyd of Frederick; and five brothers: Irvan Cregger and wife Marian of Woodsboro, Elmer Cregger and wife Emily and Arnold Cregger and wife Genny all of New Midway, Leslie Cregger and wife Joan of State College PA and Marvin Cregger and wife Diane of SC. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a son: Melvin Cregger; a granddaughter: Melanie Kemp; a sister: Ruby Pleasants; and a brother: Rudy Cregger.
Mr. Cregger is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 East Main Street, Thurmont where friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 28.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 1 at the funeral home with the Reverend Jeff Shaw and the Reverend Lloyd Fuss officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA.
The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mr. Cregger to Mountain View Ministries, 103 Apples Church Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
