Mrs. Charlotte Virginia Harbaugh, 87 of Thurmont died Monday, February 22 at St. Catherine's Nursing Center, Emmitsburg. She was the wife of Harvey Elias Harbaugh, who died December 28, 1990.
Born April 27, 1922 in Catoctin Furnace, she was a daughter of the late Assard D. and Catherine Feller Seipler.
Mrs. Harbaugh was a lifelong member of Harriet Chapel Episcopal Parish, Thurmont and the Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of the Democratic Club of Frederick County. She had been employed by the Frederick County Board of Education.
Surviving is a son: Tim Harbaugh of Tucson AZ; a daughter: Toni Harbaugh-Blackford & Husband Jack of Kearneysville WV; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Holly M. Clabaugh; two sons: Danny Harbaugh and Doug Harbaugh; and siblings: Lillian Long, Cordie Seipler, Emma Reed, Helen Carty, Charles Seipler, Ruth Seipler, Jennie Poole, William Seipler, Edith Fraley, Lloyd Seipler, Irvin Seipler, Pauline Seipler, and Donald Seipler.
Mrs. Harbaugh is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 East Main Street, Thurmont where the family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 26.
On Saturday, February 27, Mrs. Harbaugh will be removed to the Harriet Chapel Episcopal Parish, 12625 Catoctin Furnace Road, Thurmont where she will lie in state from 9-10 a.m. at which time services will begin with the Reverend Sally Joyner-Giffin officiating.
Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Harbaugh to the Harriet Chapel Episcopal Parish, 12625 Catoctin Furnace Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
