Mrs. Sadie Georgetta “Georgette” Weddle Brown, 86 of Thurmont died Tuesday, February 16 at the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA. She was the wife of Robert Morris Brown, Sr., who died April 24, 2007.
Born April 19, 1923 in Emmitsburg, she was a daughter of the late Libert Schelly and Emma Grace Miller Weddle.
Mrs. Brown had been employed as a seamstress at Claire Frock. She was a member of Thurmont United Methodist Church. She was proud of her Irish descent and loved flowers, gardening and crocheting.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving is a son: Robert M. Brown, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Waynesboro PA; a daughter: Peggy S. Miller and husband Scott of Fayetteville PA; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A. , 615 East Main Street, Thurmont where the family will receive friends from 1-9 p.m. Sunday, February 21. The family will receive friends from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 22 at the funeral home with her pastor the Reverend Gary Morgan officiating.
Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
